BueLingo cattle

Anyone have any of these? I vaguely knew Russ Bueling(he graduated from high school in my mothers class in 1937!) who worked with NDSU to develop the breed. Characteristics were to do well on the open prairies in North Dakota..... easy unassisted births, and good carcass characteristics at slaughter. I've seen some in Grantsburg, WI as well.

I grew up in Sheldon, ND where Russel Bueling lived. It was fun seeing the Buelingo's.

Lori..... I spent the first 2 years of my life in Sheldon. The Newton Hatchery was family, and my Grandfather Charles Newton built many of the buildings in town.

Sheldon was named after a civil war vet. I live in Sheldon township; Eddy county. Also named after him or his son.

Koty, when I was little, I remember Newton's Feed Store. Loved going in there and smelling the bags of feed. It is sad to see all those old buildings and memories in Sheldon disappear. And my nice school deteriorate as it closed its doors.

Lori.... funny you mention the smell of the feed. I'm 70, and if I close my eyes, I can still smell the same thing.
