bad day

Lost the stronger of my team of Belgian mares. Got a call early Sunday from an Amish friend who's place they were at for a couple days. She had completely flipped in the stall. She's been in tie stalls the eight years I've had them and never a problem like that. Maybe it was the pigs on the other side of the barn... Either way couldn't be at a worse time. Just got started on a log job and was going well plus losing my "day" job so was really counting on the logging to get me by for awhile. So now on the hunt for a replacement. Maybe even another team and work 3. I had liver chestnut mares so that's not going to be easy to match again. I know that doesn't matter in the woods tho.

I'm sure sorry to hear that. Always difficult to lose a good one.
I hope you can find another one soon.

So sorry for your loss. Several years ago I lost a Suffolk gelding that died from eating wilted maple leaves. I hope you find a suitable replacement for your logging job.........Mark WV.

Condolences, my friend. That's hard news. May you be blessed with finding a good replacement so you can get your job done; though a good work animal can't ever be truly replaced in every sense.

Sorry to hear such bad news. Unfortunately right now, as I found out, draft horses are pretty high priced.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck.
There were quite a few Belgians that were no-saled in the Cobleskill auction weekend before last, when the weather didn't cooperate. That might be a place to look, that's not too horribly far away. Robert Detweiler, Jr., 315-858-2729, one of the sale managers.
