Granddaughter
Posted by DaveE at 2014-04-13 12:11:37
I've finally acquired a team of mules to plow with and they are great on a walking plow. But just after finally matching the mule we had my granddaughter decided they were her team. Well okay as long as I could still use them but yesterday we went to 1855 Missouri Town to plow their sorghum patch with a walking plow after watching me a few rounds she decided to try it. Now I'm left standing watching her plow with her plow and her team.

Don't let her drive your truck.

All I can say is: you gotta be proud, start looking for another team for yourself.

DaveE, are you back to the mixed team?

I hope you are rejoicing and not complaining. Do you know how hard it is to recruit kids into these activities these days? Way too many other things to compete for their time. I'd have been on top of the world when I was a kid if I'd had the opportunity that your granddaughter has. Do like Dale D says and go look for another team:-)

Wish I had known about the event.
Well, I think I can read between the lines, there is one proud grandfather.

Thanks for coming out to help on Saturday. It was a great day. I know our visitors enjoyed it. Maybe granddaughter can post a photo or two? I would feel sorry about the loss of "your" team if you had not been beaming quite so much with pride. Hope to have both of you out again soon.

That's Great! You probably already thought of it, but you could tell her the cane patch is one thing, but there's probably NO WAY she could handle a piece of sod. Then stand back and grin some more while she polishes that off too. :-)

I've found daughters and granddaughters take to the teams quicker than a lot of the boys. and do areal good job of taking care of everything, if you tell a girl not to let them run most of the time they wont run, the boys want to see how fast they can run. just my thoughts on this. I'm proud of my grandchildren all that are here can handle a team real good.
