seed plates
Posted by steve duplechin at 2011-04-24 21:36:16
I have an Avery planter with a corn plate part# G259 5/8 and a Moline planter with a corn plate part# TC 59. I was wondering if these planters came with any other seed plates and if so does anyone know where I could get one. I would be interested in some small seed plates. Both planters are one row horse drawn planters.

I don't even know where to get seed plates other than JD, Massey and IH anymore. Seed companies used to sell them, now they are antiques. This is the only place I know of that still makes them- http://lincolnagproducts.com/

Try Google and search around. Maybe you'll find something else. Or maybe you can make another brand fit.

Lincoln ag Has about everything and anything for seed plates, you might have to call and talk to them but they have it. If they dont have it they will make it.

I saw on the Lincoln site they have seed plates to fit Cole planters. Does anyone know if these plates fit the old horse drawn planters?

Just found plates for my JD 290 at a scrap yard. Got them for $.25 ea. We got 2 sets for corn, round and flat. But then that is all the choices that we could find.
