looking for experience

This is my first time posting to the board, but I am looking for some part time work on the weekends on a farm preferably one with draft horses but would take anything at the moment i'm a young person (28) interested in farming and would like to gain some experience around a farm but can't seem to find anybody who is willing to show me the ropes. I live in NYS and I'm hoping there is someone here on the porch that lives near me that I could come and help on their farm on the weekends and if they had draft horses all the better hope to hear from someone Thank You

If you're in upper NY state, maybe contact Farmer Brown's Plow shop. They might be willing to help you or put you in touch with someone that will. You can do a web search on that and should get you to the right place.

You might want to mention your approximate location in NY State, Matt, to narrow it down for the ones who are closest to you. There are quite a few folks looking in here from Champlain to Jamestown, which is over a 500 mile stretch of road.

Thank You very much for all of the responses. I am located in Ontario county but would have no problem traveling to surrounding counties to get the experience with draft horses. Like I said I am interested in all types of farming and will take any and all experience I can get but my real passion is Draft horses I look foward to hearing from more of you thanks again

You are surrounded by opportunity nearby to you .. within 15 miles of your work you have Burleys to the north, Tiff to the south, and me to the west.
Tiff .. I'm not going out on the highways until after this blizzard winds down. No farm show for me today. If you venture over there, I'd be interested to know your impressions. We'll catch up next time.
