Been hauling hay only got 32 more loads to go & tonite its snowing, if snow stays on the ground for a week ground will thaw if it gets warm enough to melt the snow ground will thaw. Cant win some times,if the ground thaws cant get hay out of where it's at about 1 mile across a wet meadow. Good luck to all of you. where is Dale at mised his post.

Guess you should have worked longer days earlier in the year! LOL Everybody loves a wise apple.
My grandfather had one of those places where he put up wild meadow hay. He cut it in the fall when the water left. It was ugly getting it out many years. You had to wait until freeze up and then go like crazy to get it done before a thaw or too much snow. Maybe you need a couple of good bobsleds and another couple of teams.

Hi, K.C. We start pulling logs tomorrow and we've got the same kind of weather here. Snows about a foot deep in the woods and getting soft underneath. I'll let you know how we make out. Maybe I should stop complaining and count my blessings.

global warming is causing all that snow and cold weather

We used to plow the snow off the roads and try to drive the frost down by driving on them. Run your stock up and down the trails to really drive the frost down. The west side of the Klamath lake was mostly swamp. we got that logged one winter. Got ugly at times trying to get across some springs. We weren't smart enough to fill those holes with logs and pull them out after we didn't need to cross them anymore.
