John, the pony pull starts thursday the 4th at 9 am. The horse pull starts at 11 am. Hitch classes start at 1.30 pm.
As a Dirty old man the cow girl chicks perform at 7 pm. Fritz would expect you to watch them if he can't come! They are trick riders actualy!! Me; I would be at the Christian Concert at that time if I could stay that long!! MAYBE?
They changed the website, I will keep everybody posted if this is wrong. Some times progress isn't all that great!
I gotta go pull tails and mane on a team that I haven't used for a while. Sled ride out here today and after words smoked pork loins before the big storm. Only neighbers and friends allowed!! A few are only going to get here after dark; hope I don't kill them with my cooking! A friend is bringing over his Belgian team; won't let anybody I like ride with him!! My team will be way overloaded!! Just kidding, my first good team was Belgian cross. Dang, he knows that too!

As luck would have it, I think I have 3/4/10 off.
Want to hear more about the cowgirl chicks thing.
Fritz sometimes balks at riding with to anything after we were going to Thief River Falls and I stopped in Mahnomen to mail my stool specimen. Had forgotted when I left Pelican.
Or two years ago when we used my car and Nick the cowboy went with. Told those two that I had worked the night before and needed to sleep. Slept in the back all the way to Valley City and home.
Almost home and I confessed I had gotten to bed the night before by 9 pm. Left work early. They threatened to shove me out of my own car by Tower City.

smith, New Londen Ontario? I think we were the original ilegal immigrants! Both sides of my family got here in the late 1800's, before all the germans and norskes I guess!! Just after the cival war. Paternal grand father was IRISH, his wife was Norske. Maternal grand father was german and english. Maternal grandmother's family thought the rest would leave if they kept shooting arrows at them! They must have run out of arrows!
Jwaller; be very carefull. I have people that have met me that think I lie also. Go Figure! Sled ride and pork roast went off as planned. Did get a team stuck for a short time, had to swing them a little, took 3 tries before they got it out. Second team went right through after the track was broke. Would be dang short runaways out on the level this year. In defence of the horses I had cleaned out a pass by the trees. We took a 50 foot shortcut and when they got down into the cleared path the sled was so much higher they couldn't get any lift. Traction got bad at the same time for them. Sled rack was as high as their backs nearly. That last 6 feet of snow had taken a real good set. They lost it not because of heart or try, but because of traction. They tried every time I asked after we got stuck as hard as I have ever seen them pull. Handed the lines to a former horse puller up on the sled after the second try. He didn't realy want them. Told him I wanted to go down and talk to the horses. I got them to back up a half of step so I could pull the collars off their shoulders, let them have a breather without getting nervous. I would swear on a stack of bibles that that team pulled harder than I ever thought they could when I got back on the sled and asked them for the final try. Pulled together and no jerking they just dug in for what footing they could get and moved it. Some times a team makes us look better than we actualy are. That was one of several for me in my life I guess!
PS, they probably took at least 3 full steps before they got 6 inches on that final pull. Unshod horses loose on that kind of traction.
