Madoff and the Ponzi scheme
Posted by KM at 2010-02-04 11:38:48
Bernard Lawrence "Bernie" Madoff has been convicted in the Ponzi scheme. He ripped off billions of dollars with fabricated gains and using the next investor to pay off the old investors. In the end the last guy lost everything when the house of cards fell. Sad story for all the people left holding the bag. It has been described as the biggest Ponzi heist known. To that I beg to differ. I submit that the biggest pozi scheme going is social security sponsored by the federal government. I am paying in to pay off the earlier investors. My kids will get to pay me off. I think it is time to say game up. The party is over tell the investors (that includes me and my wife) that it is all lost. We will all lick our financial wounds and feel bad but at least we won't perpetuate the ponzi scheme onto our kids and grandkids.
We in the US have a debt that we are paying billions in interest every day. What happens when the interest rises. Oh yea we will create jobs. Guess what that money has to come from somewhere. The idea is we take from the rich, or the greedy corporations. By definition any job that is tied to the feds is a burden on the taxpayer. The only job growth that is real is from the private side. Not one president or congress from FDR on has been able to understand this. Have the feds provide for the military and secure the boarders and let states and local communities take care of the rest. We pay more and more taxes to create more and more federal welfare. It can't go on, we are about to kill the goose that laid the golden egg. The ponzi scheme is up, time to have the trial, cry in our beer, and get busy rebuilding instead of perpetuating the problem. Maybe a little jail time for all the politicians that have played along in the scheme. KM

Looks like we're getting back into politics.
Excellent post. Social Security was originally sold as a way to get money into the depression economy. What wasn't said was that it would create a huge voting block for the party that sold it. The same people are doing the same thing with health care now.
No doubt the bleeding heart liberals will accuse anyone questioning SS as heartless people. No, just people with their blinders off that notice Uncle Sams hand going deeper and deeper into our empty pockets.

Go hitch up a team, you are wasting a lot of time worrying about something that will not change. Hitch up, chill out, and enjoy life. A man is just as happy as he makes up his mind to be.

We used to have old folk homes for those who lost everything to unsculperous bankers, and others who stole or swindled the life savings from people. Social security was set up as a forced saving account. Gutless politicians let some pay less than their share of this insurence program and stole most of the rest for pork barrel projects.
Government and the banks stole much of our value when Jimmy Carter let interest rates go to 22%. Then Reagan came along and the banks foreclosed on all the borrowers that they could zero out on. Put a huge bunch of ag people out of business all through money manlipulation.
You either have to take care of those who can't take care of themselves or knock them in head.

Your Social Security
Just in case some of you young whippersnappers (& some older ones) didn't know this. It's easy to check out, if you don't believe it.
Be sure and show it to your kids. They need a little history lesson on what's what and it doesn't matter whether you are Democrat or Republican. Facts are Facts!!!
Our Social Security
Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social Security (FICA) Program. He promised:
1.) That participation in the Program would be
Completely voluntary,
No longer Voluntary
2.) That the participants would only have to pay
1% of the first $1,400 of their annual
Incomes into the Program,
Now 7.65%
3.) That the money the participants elected to put
into the Program would be deductible from
their income for tax purposes each year,
No longer tax deductible
4.) That the money the participants put into the
independent 'Trust Fund' rather than into the
general operating fund, and therefore, would
only be used to fund the Social Security
Retirement Program, and no other
Government program, and,
Under Johnson the money was moved to
The General Fund and Spent
5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees
would never be taxed as income.
Under Clinton & Gore
Up to 85% of your Social Security can be Taxed
Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are now receiving a Social Security check every month -- and then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of the money we paid to the Federal government to 'put away' -- you may be interested in the following:
Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the independent 'Trust Fund' and put it into the
general fund so that Congress could spend it?
A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the democratically
controlled House and Senate.
Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax
deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding?
A: The Democratic Party.
Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social
Security annuities?
A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the
'tie-breaking' deciding vote as President of the
Senate, while he was Vice President of the US
Q: Which Political Party decided to start
giving annuity payments to immigrants?
A: That's right!
Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party.
Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65,
began to receive Social Security payments! The
Democratic Party gave these payments to them,
even though they never paid a dime into it!
Then, after violating the original contract (FICA), the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away!
And the worst part about it is uninformed citizens believe it!
If enough people know this, maybe a seed of
awareness will be planted and changes will
evolve. Maybe not, some people are awfully
sure of what isn't so.
Actions speak louder than bumper stickers.
AND CONGRESS GIVES THEMSELVES 100% RETIREMENT FOR ONLY SERVING ONE TERM!!!
A government big enough to give you everything you want, is strong enough to take everything you have.
-Thomas Jefferson

OH MY GOSH!!!
America Wake UP!!!
The SSI and the Federal Income Tax IS Volentary. But you better do your homework! Everywhere you turn, everytime you sign your name, you give your Constitutional Rights away. What the average American doesen't know (because we aren't taught this)is, The Federal Government is a Foreign Corporation. Our states have adopted a foreign juristiction, our courts are statutary law (Admirality Law) not the Constitutional Law our country was founded on.
If you want to reclaim your sovereignty (and it's not easy). Google "The History of American Constitutional or Common Law". This will get you started.
If you get educated you can quit Bitching about SSI and Income Taxes. But, you better get educaated or they WILL stick it to you. You can also Google "Without Prejudice UCC 1-308 or Errant Sovereigns Handbook"
America, quit complaining and DO SOMETHING!!!

"By definition any job that is tied to the feds is a burden on the taxpayer."
And I bet at least 50% of the fine people on here
are guilty of pay from taxes.
Rural heritage, ain't it great.

John, You are correct. My wife teaches school and I am an engineer. I am guilty of working on government projects. I am not pointing the finger at anyone without pointing some at myself. We are all in this one together. KM

Did you know that when you piont one finger at some one, you have three pointing back at your self??
