Wanna barter in WI?
Posted by draftydeb at 2010-02-03 23:58:05
I'm a 50 year old registered nurse and I've always loved draft horses.5 yrs ago I bought a yearling Percheron mare and 5 acres of land.I'm thinkin if there's an old teamster out there that may need some medical supervision and doesn't want to end up in a nursing home-we could barter.I'll give you room, board, and nursing care-you teach me everything you know about drafts.Post here if interested or if you know where I can go in WI/Illinois to hang out with people willing to teach me.THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP!!

Where are you located in WI? I am between Richland Center and Viroqua. If you are close enough around I could maybe fix you up with an Amish connection. They are in need of some skilled nursing help at times and they sure know horses.

Deb,
You may be interested in the annual Doc Hammill 3 day driving clinic to be held at The Natural Gait near Marquette, Iowa. It will be June 25/26/27 and can be found on the web sites of either Doc Hammill or The Natural Gait. It is a bit of a haul from Random Lake, but we made the haul to Algoma from our place near the Mississippi River last year for a clinic.

We also have some great trail riding over in these western Wisconsin ridges and coulees and would be glad to show you the trails if work days allow.
Mary
