#9 mowers
Posted by russ at 2009-06-21 22:50:34
wondering if anyone could tell me how many teeth a #9
high gear has and a #9 regular gear has, and a #9 trailer gear has? Lost the lid on the tool box that told me which this one was. Is there any other way to tell them apart?

If you are still stuck for information in a couple days, I can check out my #9 regular gear mower (parts only) and let you know. Have to check pasture fence this week and can dig around it then.

Hi, I just bought a #7 high gear from JOE Ward in Cheyenne, he might be able to tell you, he has a couple. Joe, you on here?

Hello, everyone! The only thing I can tell you off the top of my head is the high gear has a final ratio of 29:1. I can check a regular gear in the next couple days but I've never been around a trailer gear.

Jwaller, I need a left wheel for a #7, see if you have one? This one is cracked. I am going to try and braze it tomorrow, but if I don't get it done, I want to be looking for one.

Harvey, I am not sure where you are located but I have 2 sets for a #7---I think. I found them and brought them home for my #9's. The wheels are too small to fit on the #9 axle so I assumed they were for #7. If you want them and know the measurements, I can check them for you.

Sold my #7 as a lawn ornament. Would a left wheel off the #9 work?
Response by Harvey Seidel at 2009-06-23 22:41:35
Big Horses, I am definitely interested. I welded the parts up, but not sure how long they will last. I am in Thermopolis, WY. YOU? Sounds like the badlands? I will measure. my email is Email me and I will send you the measurement. The left wheel is wider than the right. With the welding I am afraid it will collapse again.

I am looking for the wheel cap and the pawls and the pawl springs for the left side of a #9. Thanks KM

A seven doesn't have ratchets at the wheel like the six and the nine. Only a wheel off a seven will work

KM-will look at my parts #9. All I've taken off it are some bushings, guards and sections. And the pitman, too.
