McCormick-Deering Cultivator
Posted by Trace at 2009-03-10 11:05:36
I have my grandfathers old McCormick-Deering Cultivator that I want to paint. I want to paint it like original, anybody have any ideas or preferred pictures(color) that would show what color where.
I believe them to be red with black like farmall, but not for sure.

thanks

If it is from the horse drawn era it should be a bright blue and IH red. With ocre (yellow) wooden parts.

This may or may not help but a lot of the older IH tractor equipment was actually red and blue

Thanks for the info. This is a horse drawn culivator, it has a metal singletree on it. I don't see anywhere that would have had wooden parts on it. Every picture I've found is in black/white (of course).

Trace,

The Wisconson Historical Society has the IHC paint committee papers available on the internet.

They are organized by year and country (Hamilton being in Canada)

Are we talking a walking cultivator or riding? One horse or two?
